Tamer's headdress; worn by female attendant in taming the Hamat’sa dancer.

Physical description

Tamer's headdress. Cedar bark framework of branches includes a headband and two additional loops (beak) fixed to the front of the band. The framework is wrapped with red cloth and then red-dyed cedar bark strips. Fringe of alternate strips of red-dyed and golden coloured cedar bark twined with string attached to back of the frame. A square of abalone shell is tied on to the bottommost flap.
