History of use

Stone axeheads of various types are used for raiding and warfare. Each type has a different purpose. These axeheads were used before the 'Rule of Law' was imposed by Australia c. 1967. Raiding is a significant part of male initiation rites.

A rounded cylindrical axehead with a large hole through the centre, and dyed brown with a yellow-brown appearance that is white with scratches all over.
