Iconographic meaning
The design on the bracelet is thought to represent Ttsam aws (or Tschumos), the supernatural being referred to as Snag or Sea Bear in English.
Physical description
Wide silver bracelet carved with a sea bear/snag design. Depicted is a bear-like creature with two small square shaped ears, salmon head eyes, bared teeth and protruding tongue. Rising from his nose is a vertical rectangular shape detailed with three ovoids. Body is crouched, the front paws placed near bottom of face; back paws are tucked under the hind legs. Fine crosshatching in negative space. Large, rectangular clasp at back. Artist inscription on back.
