History of use

Labrets are lip ornaments. According to old documentation from the Sisters of Saint Ann Museum they are: "worn ... in a sort of button hole cut in the lower part of the cheek. The flat part is in the mouth, and the round part outside."

Narrative

The documentation from the Sisters of Saint Ann Museum says this was collected by Agnes Dean Cameron and acquired by the museum in 1938.

A small white piece carved into a rounded ball on top of oval-like shoulders.
