History of use
Brass spoons for eating, as well as brass bowls and chopsticks, are commonly used by wealthier people in Korea. This spoon may have been for women's use, as women's utensils are often different from men's. Alternatively, it may have been specially made for foreigners, or as a temple fitting.

Physical description
Brass spoon with slightly concave marquise shaped bowl upturned at end opposite handle. Handle is one piece with bowl, flat on undersurface, rounded on upper surface. Handle is 0.7cm. wide. Surface is shiny, with some small indentations on underside.
