History of use

Set of matching earrings worn by married women. Similar ornaments (akaparaparat) are found among the Turkana of Kenya. Individuals adorned with metal jewellery were considered to be of a wealthy class.

Physical description

Thin leaf-shaped earrings (parts a-b) that have a soldered, round, curved hook at the top. A small incision runs vertically from hook to centre.
