Round, 4-sided hole in centre, rims around outer edge and centre hole, obverse 4 characters, character and 2 dots on reverse. Kaiyuan tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in orthodox Chinese characters on obverse; e (top), mintmark, Chinese character, 2 dots (bottom) on reverse. Inner hole off-centre.
