Previously donated to the UBC Classical Studies Deptartment from Doris Mackenzie in 2005. The piece was originally thought to have been collected c. 1910 during a Roman fort excavation in Housesteads, England (deserted settlement)?
Physical description
A bronze crossbow-style fibula. Each prong of the cross is crowned with a sphere. The clasp is long and flat, widening at the end.
