Chief's Blanket

Physical description

Chief's blanket, or robe, of woven wool. The main colour of the weaving is white, which is woven in a repeating V pattern. The secondary colours are red and black, which are woven in to create subtle horizontal bands of colour. The sides are tightly woven with vertical bands of red and black, and the top is tightly woven with red and black upside-down U-shaped designs. The width of the top extends out beyond the main body of the weaving, but aligns with the fringe. Along both sides and the bottom are repeating sections of red, white and black fringe, which has been knotted to the body.
