Iconographic meaning
The drum design represents crows and blue stars as seen through a quartz crystal left eye. The faces double for the crows and the spirits of the blue stars (Hall 1981: 80).
Physical description
Silkscreen print of octagonal drum with perimeter design of eight segmented faces; black lines define segments and interior design. Interior segment design: u form above two ovoid eyes with narrow rectangular pupils in extended pointed eyelid lines; downturned mouth-like form below eyeovoids; t form and circle at top and base of segment lines. Three interior bands of various sizes emphasize octagonal drum shape. Below image from side on left: 71/222 Gambler drum J. David -80. Print is framed, behind glass.
