History of use

Inscribed tablet from ancient Mesopotamia. Dated to the Achaemenid (Persian) period (535-333 BC), the 12th day of the 3rd month in the 15th year of King Darius. This date apparently can be translated as June 27th, 497 B.C.

Rounded rectangular reddish tablet with stylus cuneiform impressions.
