No loose threads from textile for positive identification of fibre. Spin or ply; cotton(?); balanced plain weave. Cut and sewn to form shaped cap; solidly embroidered with crossed stitches, buttonhole, double running, single chain loops, cross-stitches, laid work and couching. Red, yellow and blue treads are s twist. 2 ply silk per burn test and microscope exam (40 x 100): slides permanently filed.
Physical description
Dark pink brimless cap with circular crown and straight vertical rim cut with an arch-like shape at the front. The cap is solidly embroidered in dark pink with a yellow, orange, blue and green diamond pattern on white material. The crown has two narrow black lines. Sequins are visible through holes in the embroidery, and the edge is finished with a narrow black line.
