brooche (Brooch)

Once belonged to a friend of the donor. Worn to fasten scarf 1343/4 together in the neckline of jacket 1343/3.

Woman's oval shaped broach with the stem and leaves of a stylized flower at the centre and a red glass bead or gemstone in the centre. The edge is scalloped, and a hinged pin with a safety clasp is attached on the reverse.
