Narrative

Purchased in early July 1978 from a store in the Huaras Indian market. The store is located in from of a home owned by Juliane Velladores Sologor. This skirt was made by one of the girls in the family.

Physical description

Blue wool skirt with a red band along the bottom edge embroidered in three bands of white, blue and yellow geometric and floral designs. Above is a smaller stripe of red with a blue and white embroidered triangular pattern. At the top is an unbleached cotton band with ties on the side; cotton has red and black stamps on the inside from being previously used.
