History of use

Whistles could be comprised of one, two or three wooden shafts or pipes, with holes and reeds. They were glued by pitch and then bound together by leather or twine. Such whistles can have as many as four tones.

Physical description

Red-brown double reed whistle that is oval in cross section and bound in three sections with brown string, two near each end and one near the middle. While the wider end is solid, there are two hollows through the smaller end where there is a taper cut elongated semi-oval hole nearby at either side. Sealed with pitch.
