Biography

Amos Dawson began carving at an early age when he was 10 or 12 years old. He studies totem poles and went through books on past Native art in Order to develope his style. He has been influenced by Mungo Martin, Willie Seaweed, and Charlie James. He speaks the Kwakwala language. He taught wood-carving and engraving for a year at the Vancouver Indian Centre.
