Biography

Dr. Constance (Livingstone) Friedman, formerly Professor Emerita, UBC Faculty of Medicine. Married to Dr. Sydney Friedman, Professor Emeritus, UBC Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Friedman obtained her PhD from McGill University in 1948 in the area of renal physiology and hypertension. The Friedmans were founding faculty members of UBC’s Faculty of Medicine in 1950. Dr. Constance Livingstone-Friedman taught histology and anatomy to medical and dental students. She and her husband published more than 200 research papers on salt and hypertension.
