Somerset, Dorothy (1900 - 1991)

Dorothy Somerset was a teacher and actress who pioneered the teaching of theatre studies at the university level and was instrumental in the founding of UBC’s Department of Theatre, becoming its first department head. The Dorothy Somerset Theatre, on the UBC campus, bears her name.
