Iconographic meaning

Raven, the Creator, and Salmon are important figures in Northwest Coast mythology. This print depicts the myth of how salmon was brought to the Kwakwaka'wakw people.

Raven is shown in right profile with salmon below at left rear. Figures are black and red on white background. Pencil inscription underneath image reads "105/225 Raven and Salmon Roy J. Hanuse."
