Water Bugs/Imam Komain

The set was originally purchased by a previous owner in Toronto. In Feb. 2024 the donors purchased the set from the previous owner, in a silent auction benefit.

Stencil print of various bugs attached at the mouth to the edges of a central irregular-shape; done in horizontal orientation on off-white paper. Bugs all have different body shapes; done in brown, blue, red, green, orange, and purple, with yellow, black, dark green, and grey features. Central shape is brown and has a swirl in the middle, bordered with circles and dots; concentric circles around edge of shape. Title, Water Bugs/Imam Komain, edition number, 14/55, and artist and printer names, Kalvak/M. Nigiyok, written in pencil along bottom edge of print. Holman Eskimo Co-Operative stamp blind embossed in bottom right corner; Arches France, the paper manufacturer, stamp blind embossed in bottom left corner (only visible on back of print).
