Narrative
The print is signed Toyokuni ga (Þ▒èÕ£ïþö╗). From around 1850 on, almost all his prints have the signature enclosed in a Toshidama waku (Õ╣┤þÄëµ×á) or cartouche. By around 1860 most prints were only signed with Toyokuni ga (Þ▒èÕ£ïþö╗) in these cartouches (mostly red but sometimes yellow).
Physical description
Man in a black kimono in front of two trees. The man is facing forward with his head turned to the left side. The kimono has three yellow and red hexagon shapes on a black background lined with red and blue. His left hand is holding a cloth covered bottle ? in front of him with a frog resting on his hand while his righ arm is reaching down to hold the lower of his two swords. The background is black. The print is vertically rectangular.
