History of use
A distinct type of marbled ware was developed to imitate popular vases turned from serpentine rock. This mauve tankard is considered more convincing than blue ones.

Physical description
Purple and purple-white marbled globular earthenware tankard. Flat spread base, fluted sides, short cylindrical neck with inverted rim, loop handle from top of neck to mid-body. Domed pewter lid hinged to top of handle.
