Reported to have been found in a tomb near Carthage. Roman form but made and used in North Africa.
Physical description
Conical shaped, grey clay jar with a cream slip. The body quickly swells from base and tapers slowly upward to a rim. Below the rim, the body swells outward forming cup-like opening. Handle attached at rim and shoulder. Horizontal concentric rings molded from clay produce undulating surface at the shoulder. The jug has no decoration.
